NXT 3 is not compatible with Win 10! We are trying to help you but you seem creatoor to ignore what we are telling you try to cherry pick the answers you want to hear Might be better to stop arguing with people who actually poke at the software and know something about it.

Dump the HP scanner. I had a very expensive HP scanner, for my business, and it caused a lot of problems with other software. It is sitting in the back room now, and has been for many years. The scanner on the Epson Artisan does a better job than the Hp did. If anyone actually read this topic the problem is not compatibility of Creator with Windows Yes I read that too but temper that with the fact that it has never happened in the past.

At the mca time it fof have become the 'perfect storm' when Win 10 was added into the mix. I'm not terribly hopeful that that will help, since uninstalling NXT3 solves the scanner problem, but it would be something worth trying. I had an issue once with a Canon printer and an old version of Adaptec Easy CD Creator on Windows 98, that was dependent on the order of installation.
Brendon, thank you for setting the record straight. The reason I am suspecting the issue is with a driver conflict between Creator and the specifically just ONE of my scanners, is that the program and other HP scanner works fine when C-NXT3 is installed.

That's just not the scanner I use as it is a multi-function device creatod lacks the speed, resolution and accuracy of my once compatigle now dated dedicated scanner. Here is a site that still remains on the 'net today that shows ver 3 is Win 10 certified.
As the product developed and C-NXT4 superseded ver 3, they replace ver 3 on that info page. That doesn't mean that ver 3 LOST it's certification.

For instance, most scanner applications can be invoked by any program that would expect a picture, like an image editing program. If you scan into something else, do you still get a crash?

Trying to isolate the problem to the "Solution Center" or comppatible the driver. You make an excellent point. I was so focused on the creatof driver issue, that I failed to check interactions with other applications. Since the presence of NXT3 that causes the software failure was limited to the just the one scanner, my focus was on the driver, rather the than the scan application itself. I will look for installed applications that have the ability to acquire images via scanners.
I simply installed it as I have many times previously an ran with it.
iis If you know of any good dedicated scanning software or scanning suites, I would be interesting in looking at that route. On another system, I have tried various ones that were out there. NONE worked well and one or two worked so poorly, I removed them all and never looked back. I have had moderate success with PaperPort but did not like what it did with my file system. I purchased v 14 a while back and have yet to install it for hesitancy of same reason.

Posted July 13, edited. Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this conflict? Posted July 14, I HAVE however, used that technique of post re-install successfully elsewhere. The scanner is my trusty HP ScanJet series. What happens if I try to install a non-compatible product on Windows 7? Some products may not install properly and have limited functionality - even if the product appears to install properly.
